We have made it to the land of country music and unsweet tea. We started out this AM with our departure from the house at 4:30 AM with our ride to the airport. We arrived and our day started off good with USAirways, United and others extremely busy but nobody at all at American. We hit those self check in counters (wow, everywhere you go now you have to do all the work yourself,so just what is it that you are paying for?), paid our $15 each to carry put our bags on the plane (don’t get me started on that rant) and head through customs and immigration.
No problems here and then off to sit and wait for the flight.
Headed off to the land of bigger and better (Texas that is) and after a quick layover in DFW (Dallas-Ft Worth) we head off to Nashville.
Hotel is fine, close to the airport and we are travelling in style this week with our rental car that is staying with us all the way to Ft. Lauderdale is a Chrysler Sebring all quiet and luxurious.
No pictures today, trust me the view of the two of us at 4:30 in the AM would not be a pretty site.
Our travel miles today are 1583 from Calgary to Dallas and another 617 from Dallas to Nashville. This gives us a running total for our first day out of 2200 miles even.
Tomorrow we hit the Grand Ole Opry and the Opryland museum and some shopping to pick up a cooler to travel with and a new cell phone so that I dont have to pay the outrageous roaming charges that Bell wants to charge me.
See you all tomorrow.
